Private Equity & Venture Capital

In 2021, I joined a London-based private equity and venture capital house as Managing Director of Investment and Chief Marketing Officer, a role that gave me a deep, first-hand understanding of life inside PE and VC.
It was a uniquely broad position. I spent time on investment committees, worked closely with founders, hired CEOs, sat on portfolio boards, and was parachuted in as interim CEO of a portfolio company when hands-on leadership was needed. No two days were the same and neither were the challenges.
What was consistent was the intensity of the environment, the pace of decision-making, and the need for leaders to show empathy, resilience, grit, and absolute clarity under pressure.
That experience means that when I work with PE and VC professionals whether investors, operating partners, or portfolio leaders I understand the realities of the role. The expectations, the scrutiny, the trade-offs, and the cultural dynamics are familiar territory.
How I support PE & VC firms
I work with PE and VC firms in a number of ways, drawing on both my coaching training and my lived experience inside the investment environment.
Supporting investment teams
I work with investment professionals to strengthen leadership capability in high-pressure, high-stakes contexts.
This includes:
-
Leadership development for partners, principals, and investment teams
-
Thriving at pace without burning out performance or judgement
-
Navigating uncertainty, ambiguity, and competing priorities
-
Getting the most out of Investment Committees — clarity of thinking, challenge, and decision quality
-
Developing presence, influence, and confidence at senior levels
Assessing founders and leadership teams
I also support investment teams when assessing founders and senior leadership teams — particularly around:
-
Leadership capability beyond the pitch
-
Team dynamics, strengths, and risk areas
-
Founder readiness for scale and change
-
Identifying where coaching or leadership support will unlock value post-investment
This perspective often adds an additional human and leadership lens to commercial due diligence.
Supporting portfolio leaders
For portfolio CEOs and leadership teams, I offer coaching and advisory support through key moments such as:
-
Stepping into CEO or C-suite roles post-investment
-
Leading through transformation, growth, or turnaround
-
Managing board relationships and investor expectations
-
Building leadership teams that can scale with the business
-
Creating cultures of challenge, trust, and sustainable high performance
